Independence Blue Cross
Independence Blue Cross (Independence) is the leading health insurance organization in southeastern Pennsylvania. With our affiliates, we serve nearly 8.5 million people in 25 states and the District of Columbia, including more than 2.5 million in the region.
Health insurers must find meaningful ways to engage their members both digitally and physically. It is critical to educate members on healthcare costs, alternative health solutions, preventative wellness services, in order to help them more easily navigate the healthcare system and maximize their health.
In September, 2016 Independence launched Independence LIVE, a 10,000 square-foot state-of-the-art customer and community health and wellness experience center, which focuses on innovation to find practical solutions to enhance the member experience and increase community engagement including:
- Fitness classes including yoga, Zumba, and more, as well as financial well-being, health, and nutrition classes;
- A full kitchen for healthy cooking demonstrations;
- A tech arcade where guests can test various health and wellness tools and mobile apps;
- Free blood pressure screenings;
- Licensed “Super” Agents who can answer benefit questions, take payments, and enroll people in individual health coverage;
- Private conference rooms and large multi-purpose meeting spaces, which are fully equipped with audio visual equipment and can be reserved for community meetings.
LIVE is the newest addition to the insurer's portfolio of resources and digital programs — which includes IBX Wire, ibxpress.com, and the Independence Express.
